For visitors returning from US/Canada or Europe it is possible to do a stopover for up to 7 nights. The airport website offers a lot of useful information on airlines and related matters.
Keflavik Airport is located about 40 km outside of Reykjavik. The easiest way to get to the city centre is via bus. The following companies offer bus services from the airport to BSÍ Bus Terminal or directly to your hotel.
There are also the options of car rental and taxi at the airport.

Please be aware that late June is high tourist season in Iceland and room blocks may fill quickly. We encourage you to reserve hotel rooms as soon as possible.
The conference site is located 3 km south of the city center and can be reached by bus No 5 (the last stop on the line to Nautholl). A single fare can be paid with cash on the bus (remember to have the right amount of 420 ISK, as drivers don't give change). Bus tickets and passes can be purchased at Keflavik airport, at the Kringlan mall in Reykjavik and a number of other places. Please consult the public transport website for timetable, ticket information and journey planner.
June-July is the best time for sightseeing in Reykjavik. Of many possibilities are day trips provided by many tour operators, museums, galleries, thermal pools or just walking around enjoying the beautiful views and fresh air. The Icelandic Krona (ISK) is the currency in Iceland. Currency can be exchanged at banks. There are banks in and around Reykjavik as well as at Keflavik airport. Virtually all payments in Iceland can be done with banking cards. An exception is buying a single fare on city bus, which must be paid with cash.
